THE INTERVIEW

01. The Beginnings of a Journalism Career

Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network:

Ms. Soler, welcome to Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network. Could you start by telling us how you began your career in journalism and what inspired you to dedicate your life to media and cultural dissemination?

Micky Soler:

I started by studying Journalism at the University of Seville, Spain, because I have always loved communication and literature.

02. Building an International Cultural Platform

As the founder of OriGinaL MagaZine, you have created an international platform that celebrates art, culture, and creativity. What was your original vision, and how has that vision evolved over the years?

Micky Soler:

OriGinaL MagaZine UK started as a bilingual online magazine, in English and Spanish, focused on art and culture, with a vision to support women, diversity, and creative pursuits. Over time, we have included entertainment news and attracted a massive North American audience. Practically 95% of our texts are in English now. We also do print editions for clients and friends. We have greatly expanded our coverage, even offering the latest news from the heart of Hollywood.

03. The Qualities of an Exceptional Creative Professional

Throughout your career, you have worked with filmmakers, artists, authors, and public figures from many countries. What qualities do you consider define an exceptional creative professional?

Micky Soler:

I think they must have talent and imagination, of course, but also a great capacity for work and organization. And it is vital to have a circle of colleagues, friends, and professionals with whom to collaborate and exchange ideas and projects. Communication, dialogue, hard work, kindness, and a restless mind that looks beyond the surface.

04. Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Exchange

Your work constantly promotes diversity, inclusion, and cultural exchange. Why do you believe these values are more important than ever in today's media landscape?

Micky Soler:

I believe we are all interconnected in this world, and it is important to share experiences. It enriches us and helps us expand our knowledge.

05. Journalism in the Digital Age

Journalism is changing rapidly in the digital age. What do you consider to be the greatest opportunities—and the greatest challenges—for journalists today?

Micky Soler:

The digital era has brought numerous opportunities for journalists and communicators, allowing them to create their own media outlets and work structures more easily. The major challenges lie in competing in a digital age filled with numerous influencers, content creators, artists, marketers, companies, and journalists, all before a highly demanding and fast-moving audience that has very little time to read news or watch videos. There is an information overload on social networks, which can make it hard for the public to know what to choose or decide how much time to dedicate to it.

06. Intercultural Collaboration and Global Understanding

As someone who has built international media networks, how important is intercultural collaboration when it comes to strengthening global understanding through storytelling?

Micky Soler:

Intercultural collaboration is the most important thing today for achieving that global understanding that is so deeply needed in the world.

07. Joining the Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network

You have become an ambassador for the Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network. What inspired you to join this international initiative, and what does this role mean to you on a personal level?

Micky Soler:

I found it very interesting since we come from Greek culture—I say this as a European citizen—and it is a very rich culture. For me, it is an important role that inspires me to learn more about Greece and its connection to the world.

08. Connecting Greece, the United States and the World

How do you imagine the Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network will contribute to strengthening cultural and professional ties between Greece, the United States, and the international creative community?

Micky Soler:

I believe it will be highly useful and will succeed in strengthening those ties.

09. Opportunities for Greek Creative Talent

Greece possesses a rich cultural heritage and a rapidly developing creative industry. What opportunities do you foresee for Greek filmmakers, journalists, and artists on the global stage?

Micky Soler:

I think we need to get closer to them to understand them better, along with their cultural richness and depth. I see many opportunities.

10. Advice for the Next Generation of Women in Media

Women play an increasingly influential role in journalism and media leadership. What advice would you give to young women aspiring to develop a successful international career in these fields?

Micky Soler:

I would tell them to study and work with passion.

11. Artificial Intelligence, Integrity and Human Creativity

Artificial intelligence is transforming journalism, publishing, and media production. How do you believe AI should be used responsibly while preserving journalistic integrity and human creativity?

Micky Soler:

Exactly like that: by preserving human creativity and journalistic rigor. It can be useful in terms of speed, but we must remember that "creating" is something that makes us human; it connects us and expands our vision of the world. We need to create, using our minds and our hands.

12. A Recognition to Remember

Throughout your international career, is there any particular interview, project, or collaboration that has left a lasting impression on you?

Micky Soler:

There are many; it is hard to remember them all. The 2026 Golden Bridge Recognition for Women Award that I received this year from the NEZ Foundation has been very impactful for me, knowing that the Foundation organizes cultural events and film festivals like the prestigious NEZ International Film Festival in Kolkata, India, and seeing how they are connected with European and American culture. It has been a great honor; I am very grateful.

13. Current Publications and International Projects

What international projects, publications, or collaborations are you currently working on that our audience should look forward to?

Micky Soler:

I am working on my magazines, OriGinaL MagaZine UK and Love Hollywood USA Magazine. I also edit Arte Magazine and Beverly Hills Studios Magazine for the NEZ Foundation.

14. The Future of Global and Independent Journalism

Looking to the future, how do you think global media will evolve over the next decade, and what role will independent journalism play in shaping that future?

Micky Soler:

The world is constantly changing, so it is difficult to predict, but independent journalism will obviously hold a privileged place.

15. A Message to Future Journalists and Creators

Finally, what message would you like to convey to the Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network audience, especially to young journalists, filmmakers, and creators who dream of making an international impact?

Micky Soler:

I would tell them to study, read a lot, and work hard for their dreams. Anything is possible.

A FINAL WORD

Thank you, Ms. Soler, for sharing your time, your perspectives, and your inspiring journey with Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network. We wish you great success in all your future endeavors.
