New Revelations from the 8th Kimolos International Film Festival
Kostis Savvidakis joins the Jury, while “Anorgasmia” arrives in Kimolos
Following the announcement of Lee Anduze of Parov Stelar as a special guest, the 8th Kimolos International Film Festival reveals another distinguished guest and one of the films selected for this year’s competition program.
Actor Kostis Savvidakis, widely known to audiences for his roles in the popular television series Wild Bees (Agries Melisses) and The Land of the Olive Trees (I Gi tis Elias), joins the festival’s Jury Committee and invites audiences to Kimolos from September 2 to 6, 2026, for a unique journey into international cinema, with free admission for the public.
Among the films competing for the festival’s “Golden Tree” Award is “Anorgasmia,” directed by Jon Einarsson Gustafsson from Iceland, which will be presented in its Greek national premiere.
Despite its provocative title, Anorgasmia is, in essence, a sensitive and deeply human cinematic exploration of the alienation within modern relationships and the human need for genuine intimacy. The film arrives in Kimolos following its journey through major international film festivals, adding yet another distinctive cinematic voice to this year’s program—one that rarely finds its way to Greek screens.
This is precisely what defines the festival’s distinctive identity. Created by director Manuel de Coco, Artistic Director of the event, the festival seeks out and presents films and filmmakers from around the world who deserve to be discovered by Greek audiences.
The 8th Kimolos International Film Festival takes place from September 2–6, 2026, bringing international cinema, emerging voices and established creators together against the unique backdrop of the Aegean island of Kimolos.
