Judging by the turnout and response from the hundreds of visitors to this year’s Expo April 26 at the Concordville Inn in Concordville, Pa., it’s safe to say that the boutique trade show achieved its goals. Vendors, speakers, honored guests and dignitaries left with business cards in their pockets and smiles on their faces, everyone eager to follow up and put into practice what they learned at the day-long event.

"A Taste of Hellas: A Mediterranean Palette Trade Portal” was held successfully in NYC on April 24

A presentation featuring speakers on importing/exporting, a Food and Wine Testing event, and a Networking Reception in Association with Hermes Expo International, The Eastern Mediterranean Business Culture (EMBCA) and the Queens Chamber of Commerce. The event has been recently featured in the Hellenic News of America. “A Taste of Hellas”, was introduced by Lou Katsos, the Founder and President of EMBCA and moderated by Paul Kotrotsios, Founder and President of Hermes Expo International.

When cancer strikes, a welcome home for Greek families

The Ronald McDonald House New York at East 73rd Street in Manhattan is close to 13 major cancer treatment centers. It can accommodate 84 families and is filled to capacity almost every night. The Greek Division of the House has had as many as 14 families staying at one time, according to Michael Bapis, chairman of the Greek Division. Since it was founded in 1978, the Ronald McDonald House New York has provided temporary lodging and care for more than 35,000 families. The Greek Division has helped more than 10,000 Greek families.

There is something about travel to our lost homelands that creates spectral yearnings in me. I have had the great fortune to visit and to experience nearly every country bordering Greece, or where the Byzantine legacy still remains in culture or edifice. Nowhere were the ghosts more numerous than in my visit to Smyrna last autumn.
